The Smile Series:
Kurt Cobain
In this art series, I showcase the four stages of a smile utilizing figures who have influenced society creatively, all of which happen to have great smiles and have passed away far too young.
I created this series because I wanted it in my own home, and now it is available to collectors. In a way, these are visual reminders to myself to smile. For the series, I chose various figures that have in some way influenced me. It's my hope that when a viewer studies each of the four images in order...they, too, will smile.
In this piece, I focused on Kurt Cobain who was a pioneer of sound, style, and had a tremendous cultural significance. Kurt's work with Nirvana put Seattle on the music map, and Seattle happens to be one of my favorite places in the United States.
Each Kurt Cobain piece measures 24"x 24" on Archival Paper. Each is silkscreened with acrylic, oil stick and aerosol paint used within the work. All are signed by Artist Cory Danziger and ship with Certificate of Authenticity.
